Barbara Ann Proctor

Barbara Ann Proctor of Prince Georges County, Maryland passed away on January 13, 2024. Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Theodora Joy. Barbara was a member of the Piscataway Conoy Tribe of Maryland and a devout member of Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Barbara was a skilled seamstress and found joy in crocheting.

Laurence Murray Codori, Jr.

On November 3, 2023, Laurence M. Codori, Jr. departed this life peacefully following several years of declining health due to Parkinson's disease. His five daughters, their spouses, and his two grandsons are broken-hearted, but they feel some measure of solace knowing that he is no longer suffering and is now in the warm embrace of his late wife, Helen M. Codori (nee Bucci), who passed away suddenly in June 2022.

Mr. James L. “Jimmy” Gray, Sr.

October 4, 1945 – February 11, 2023

JAMES L. GRAY SR. of Brandywine, MD departed this life on Saturday, February 11, 2023. He was the beloved son of the late Lawrence Lowell Gray and Alberta (Lucille) Gray. He is survived by his wife Roberta, daughter Karen, sons James Jr. (Audra) and Mark (Christine) Gray; grandchildren Anthony "AJ" Whitehead (Santa), Spencer Ross, Jr., Ryan, Alesha, Olivia, and James Gray III, his great-granddaughters Brielle Gray and Ashley Whitehead, and brother Francis (Agatha) Gray.

Marlene Y. Carhart, of Cheltenham Maryland, passed away on January 20, 2023 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Carhart. Marlene was born on November 2, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Dominic and Dorathey Chianese .

Howard Joseph Thompson died peacefully on December 12th, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. He was born on August 30, 1941 in Bel Alton, Maryland of the late Dorothy (Dyson) and the late Howard Thompson.

Francis Xavier Zak

Francis was born July 2, 1945, in Mahopac, NY to the late Charles and Helen Zak. He worked as an electrical engineer in the Air Force, and served 20 years, retiring in 1988. He then worked in private industry for another 12 years, becoming the President and CEO of Adroit Systems, Inc. in Alexandria, Virginia.

Helen Marie Codori

Helen Marie Bucci was born at the Old Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. on March 5, 1934, the second child and only daughter of Edward Joseph Bucci, Sr, and his wife, Cecilia Nancy Presutti. Although both of her parents were born in Washington, D.C., all of her grandparents and most of her aunts and uncles were born in Sulmona, L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy before the family emigrated in March 1902 and settled in the D.C. area where farmland was still available.

Col. Donald Herman Retzlaff, USA(Ret.)

Don was born on March 29, 1934 in Casco, WI to Clifford and Myrtle (Englebert) Retzlaff. He received his biology degree from St. Norbert’s College in Green Bay in 1956, and he was commissioned into the US Army Medical Service Corps upon graduation. He entered active duty in the Medical Service Corp and attended the US Army Aviation School. On August 24, 1955, he married Lorraine Marie Jacobs. They raised three sons, Kelly, Scott and Steve, and one daughter, Janine.

Reverend James Isidore Dixon passed  away on December 30, 2021 at Sagepoint Senior Living in La Plata, Maryland. He was 90 years old. Father Dixon was born on July 7, 1931 in Washington, D.C.  He was ordained on April 5, 1964 in Rome, Italy.

On Tuesday June 1, 2021, Jocelyne Sampeur-Michaud was called home to be with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Jocelyne was born on March 23rd, 1948, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She had three siblings, Bernadette, Suzette, and Jacques. She was the youngest among the four children to Hosanna Etienne and Max Sampeur.

Joseph M. Carhart, of Cheltenham Maryland, passed away on July 28, 2020 at the age of 92. He was known as Mac to family and friends and as Joe to his colleagues. Mac was beset with a number of health issues as he aged, but he was blessed with a peaceful death at home, in his sleep.

Mark was born on February 14, 1974 in Washington DC to Walter and Mary Misiorek. He grew up in Cheltenham MD, the youngest of three boys. The house was full of love, laughter and antics, and quickly became the gathering place for the entire neighborhood. Mark passed away on July 27, 2020.
